Learn Reinsurance concepts from Basic to Advance level and apply them on our Practical projects designed by Mr. Fernando De la Torre Corzas, an Actuary based in Mexico.
Objective
The Basic part of the course is designed to provide you with knowledge of basic terminology used in the life & health international reinsurance market, the different uses and types of reinsurance contracts, and how to quote the most common types of reinsurance contracts.
The Advance part of the course is designed to provide you with technical skills for quoting different of types of reinsurance contracts, knowing what to do in different situations in order to model reality in the best way.
What you’ll learn?
Basic Reinsurance:
● Understand what is a reinsurance contract
● Know the main reasons an insurance company would purchase reinsurance
● Be familiar with the different classifications of reinsurance contracts (proportional – non proportional, automatic-facultative, traditional – financial)
● Have a look at the main clauses and sections of the reinsurance treaty
● Understand different aspects taken into consideration when quoting a proportional reinsurance contract for group life, such as the IBNR, inflation factor, burning cost, etc.
● Test your knowledge and apply your learning in exercises & quizzes
Advance Reinsurance:
● Understand how to quote a QS Health contract
● Know the different characteristics of quoting a WXL contract
● Be familiar with the different types of approaching the Loss Distribution of these types of programs
● Have a look at the main considerations when calculating a variable rate and a profit commission
● Understand different aspects taken into consideration when quoting a WXL reinsurance contract, such as the IBNR, inflation factor, burning cost, unused capacity and second layers.
